Description

You won't win a staring contest with a barred owl, I tried. I spotted this barred owl hunting crayfish near a canal at Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge. This young owl didn't seem to mind when i sat down on the grass and snapped its portrait, it had crayfish on mind and in the beak.
